One-paragraph boilerplate
Odo is a pay-once mileage log for self-employed people and gig workers who deduct miles on their taxes. Trips are logged in seconds — one-tap GPS, quick manual entry, or odometer readings — classified with a swipe, valued at built-in IRS rates, and exported as accountant-ready CSV and PDF reports. Odo is free for 20 trips a month with a single $6.99 unlock for unlimited use, and it works offline: no account, no ads, no analytics, and location data that never leaves the phone.

Story angles
The $6.99 answer to the subscription price hike
MileIQ went from $5.99 to $13.99 a month — $168/year — after its 2025 acquisition by Bending Spoons. Odo does the tax-log job for a one-time $6.99: a concrete case study in pay-once software pushing back on subscription creep.
A location app that never uploads your location
Odo has no account, no cloud, and no analytics SDKs. Trips stay in a database on the phone; the app’s only outbound traffic is an anonymous crash report that carries a stack trace and nothing else. Almost no location app can say that.
Against auto-tracking
Every competitor sells always-on drive detection. Odo deliberately refuses it — battery, reliability, privacy — and bets that ten-second manual logging is the more honest design. A contrarian product thesis with a defensible rationale.
